Oskar Blues Deviant Dale's:
Howdy friends and welcome back to the site with the can do attitude!  Eh? Eh? Still nothing?  Great, well I will keep trying till I know I can make you laugh.  Today we look at a beer that was first originally suggested by a friend of mine who is also my go to source for good horror movies and the irony of him suggesting this beer to me is not lost in that is it’s got the word “Deviant” in the title.  (Still love ya Don)  So today’s tall boy comes from that now certified awesome brewery in Colorado, Oskar Blues and is called Deviant Dale’s, a take on “if Dale’s Pale Ale sold it’s soul to balance Deviant’s foreboding aromas…with a copper ball-of-fire color and inscrutable finish”.  This beer has been growing in myth and legend with the beer guys I talk to and finally I got to crack this tall boy and what did I find?  I found that my favorite beer lost a touch of it’s ABV and moved to a can.  Yes friends, this is Dogfish 90 minute in a can and the drop in alcohol is a tad bit noticeable but nothing that is worth really complaining about because, well, canned beers aren’t supposed to carry this kind of flavor profile.  From a thick foamy head that leaves ton of lacing with a strong grapefruit nose to biting hops and a thick coating on the back of the tongue.  The one noticeable difference between Deviant and a 90 minute is that this one has a nice creamy smooth mid tongue that the 90 minute doesn’t have and it helps cut that hop bite back to more of a nibble.  To sum up this yet another awesome beer from Oskar Blues and, I do believe, this makes them officially the first brewery that we have looked at to have all it’s beers be just that awesome.  Yep, I just said that and I’ll stand behind it 110%.  Drink up and enjoy, friends and if you can, make it an Oskar Blues beer.
