Shiner Blonde:
Greetings from the road friends. While your intrepid beer explorer is out keeping Texas risk free, I will continue to bring you my thoughts on beer. I know y’all can’t make it through the day without me so, I’m happy to be here for you. Today’s beer is technically the oldest beer in the Spoetzl brewery, originally brewed in 1903 (the original bock was started in 1913), the Shiner Blonde is the answer to those who want to see clearly through their beer. As you can tell, this beer is akin to most of the beers from last week. The beer pours lightly with minimum head and light carbonation that lingers throughout the drinking process. The nose and flavor are clean with undertones of fruit, flowers, and rice (akin to Budweiser). The taste doesn’t have sweetness that regular Budweiser has more neutral in flavor mainly lingering malt and hops. No dry mouth taste or hoppy breath, the beer is a good addition to a meal where the flavor in the food doesn’t need pairing or ,*ahem* masking. Again, another good gate way beer to steer those usual suspect drinker away to better pastures.
