Today’s brew is another from our friendly neighborhood Cajuns to the east. Though, for the first time this year, we have a flub. Covington Brewery’s Strawberry Ale was welcome just as much as the Abita Strawberry but this one was a complete failure. Sour taste on the front end with almost artificial strawberry flavor on the back end made this a very miserable beer (I didn’t finish it, I’m not a masochist). I’m going to chalk this one up to a possible bad beer and give it another go around next time I’m in Louisiana. Covington produces some very good ales and because of this, I will give it another shot. Sorry Louisiana, this one is a foul tip at the plate, you tried, but it’s still a strike against you.
