Dogfish Head Mida's Touch:
Ah Dogfish Head, your beers are so great, yet you keep trying to go mainstream (see the short lived (?) Discovery Channel show) but once you saw that watching your owner work and how much of a big goof ball he is, you pulled back and continue to make awesome beer and spirits (!) for the masses. Today’s brew comes from their ancient ales line, a recipe older than Christianity, found in King Midas’ tomb; this mead style brew is awesome. This is one of my personal favorites, causing me to buy out a stores selection once when I found it after being without for almost 8 months!! It’s a complex taste that gives a strong ale front end with a strong chardonnay back end. Wonderful with fish, I enjoy it with a nice sandwich that contains stronger tasting meats and cheeses. This beer is a gold standard in ancient ales. Pun-ny!!!
